Important Notice for Summer Village of Sunset Point Residents
We have noticed an increase in cut tree branches and brush being left in village ditches. While we appreciate residents taking care of yard maintenance, please do not leave branches, brush, or trimmings in the ditches.
Ditches are designed for storm-water runoff. When branches and brush are left in these areas, they can block water flow and contribute to flooding on roads and nearby properties.
Yard waste left in ditches can also create safety concerns by blocking visibility for drivers and creating obstacles for maintenance vehicles and crews.
All residents are responsible for disposing of their own yard waste. Please do not leave piles of branches or brush on village property for maintenance crews to remove.
Residents are encouraged to take branches to the local waste commission site or chip them for personal compost use.
