Connect Mobility Fiber Internet Project Update

Hello,

Thank you for your continued interest in the Connect Mobility fiber internet project for Alberta Beach, Val Quentin, and Sunset Point. We appreciate your patience and the confidence you have shown in us over the past several year.

To date, 320 households have registered their interest in bringing fiber internet to our community. Our original goal was to reach 400 registrations before construction began. While we did not quite reach that number, the response has been strong enough to give us the confidence to continue moving the project forward.

As a privately funded project, however, the network must also be financially sustainable once it is built. Before service is activated, we will need 300 households to complete a five-year service agreement. This commitment provides the financial certainty needed to operate, maintain, and continue investing in the network for years to come. With 320 households already expressing their interest, we are confident the community will achieve this milestone and help make this project a long-term success.

We know many of you have been wondering when construction will begin. While the project has taken longer than we originally anticipated, I want to assure you of one thing:

We are Still Coming

This is a privately funded infrastructure project, and like any project of this size, there have been delays related to engineering, financing, permitting, and coordinating with utility companies. Throughout this process, we have remained committed to building a long-term, reliable fiber network for your community rather than taking shortcuts that could compromise the quality or future of the service.

The good news is that the engineering work has been completed, our construction partners are in place, and the project financing has advanced significantly. We are now working through the final approvals and administrative steps required before construction begins.

When construction starts, the backbone fiber will be installed first, followed shortly by residential service installations. Our goal is to activate customers as quickly as possible once crews are on the ground.

We understand that waiting has been frustrating, especially for those who have limited internet options today. Your patience and encouragement have meant a great deal to our team, and we truly appreciate the support we have received from residents, businesses, and community leaders.

This network is being built to serve Alberta Beach, Val Quentin, and Sunset Point for decades to come. We believe the investment will not only improve internet service today but also support future economic growth, education, remote work, and property values throughout the community.
